Sunday Reset
little weekly mom moments
I’m pretty sure that I’ve blinked and February is almost over and I’m not exactly sure where time is going, but it’s all moving way too fast. Does anyone else feel like this too? I’ve been feeling a pull to be offline more and find time for hobbies and adventures and if I’m being honest, it’s been so incredible. I forget just how much you can do when you’re not doom scrolling, so this is all of our reminders to try to make an effort to fit in at least one hobby a week for our mental healths. Or do one thing that feels overwhelming, just to say that you accomplished it (I took both kids ice skating this week and it was crazy, but also so fun.).
With that being said, here’s a weekly recap of everything I’ve done, read, and what we’re looking forward to in the days ahead!
📚 2026 Book Goal: 12/100
This week I didn’t finish a single book but I’ve started 2 really good ones, a thriller and a nonfiction book, so I’m excited to see how they play out. I feel like I go through periods of intense reading, and then periods of never finding time to read.
Here’s the last 5 books I read and loved though and think you should add to your TBR:
If you could only pick two, my top two of February so far have been The Correspondent and Daggermouth.
The Correspondent was a six ⭐️ audiobook for me. If you read this, listen to it on audiobook because it was beautiful. All of the voices. A story told in a series of letters and emails, about life lived, age, grief, forgiveness. My gosh, this book was incredible. And I know it’ll sit with me. It made me cry, and just think about all of our life experiences. I do think it’s a book that has to hit you at the right time, and for me it was just perfect.
Daggermouth is a dark, forced marriage dystopian novel and it was so twisty and fantastic that I’ll be thinking about it for days. It’s full of political rebellion as well which honestly, fits perfectly with today’s climate.
Currently reading: I’m reading His and Hers by Alice Feeney which is a dark thriller that I watched the Netflix show about. The show was so good I immediately needed to read the book.
I’m also reading One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This which is a very heavy non fiction book criticizing western civilization. I’ll let you know my thoughts once I get through it, but it’s an intense read.
🏡 Homeschool This Week
This week we signed both kids up for swim, focused a lot on Black History lessons, and have started small group sessions where we’ve gone ice skating and learned all about winter animals and started piano lessons. Our Black History lessons have been some of my favorite, and it was a good reminder for me to expand beyond our curriculums sometimes in order to get a better, and more well rounded education. Teachers pay teachers has been an invaluable resource for this- I just grab some books at the library and then found lesson plans for them on TPT.

We also caught RSV and were out of commission for a little but hopefully that’s the last major winter illness and we can have some sick free days.
This week was also our Frog and Toad themed Valentine’s day party and if I’m being honest- this turned out way cuter than I anticipated. I’m trying to make sure that I work on building our community and I want to host monthly storybook parties as a way to easily do that. It was definitely overwhelming and harder than I thought, but I feel like it’ll get easier the more I do.
✨ Weekly Cup Filling

This week I tried my hand at both coloring and drawing and while I’m not sure I’m the biggest fan of coloring, it was really relaxing to sit and zone out for a while. It’s reminding me that finding time for hobbies that get you out of your head does wonders for one’s mental health.
I also, finally, have felt healthy enough to workout and if you’re a parent trying to find a workout program that isn’t fussy, doesn’t take forever AND you can do around kids, then I can’t recommend ladder fitness enough. There are a ton of workout programs within the app to join, I’m on team define, and every workout is about 30 ish minutes and uses equipment I already have. Out of the countless programs I’ve tried, something about this one has actually stuck with me and it’s one I enjoy the most. Here’s a free seven day pass if you want to try it for yourself.
If you’re a big musical fan and you haven’t heard of Epic the Musical yet, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s all I’ve listened to lately and I can’t believe some guy just made the whole thing in his house over the past 4-5 years. It’s a very loose adaptation of Odysseus’s ten-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War, and the song Get in The Water is belted by my kids and I daily.
Finally, this month my book club and I met up, and I want to just touch on how important female friendship is, especially in motherhood. Having a group of people who just get you, who cheer you on, and who just never make anything feel like. competition is peak female friendship and it’s so healthy for us to show our kids. This month’s book was The Correspondent and I truly enjoyed it, and probably wouldn’t have read it without book club so I’m grateful we all tried something new. Next month we’re watching Project Hail Mary together so our book is the audiobook version of it and I’ve heard nothing but great things about it so if you want to join in and read it with us, please do!
💌 What’s Coming This Week

I’ll be sharing how I lesson plan, my meal planning strategy, and how I also plan my content for the week so I feel less scrambled and more put together. I honestly can feel a huge difference in my weeks when I don’t do this so it’s been transformative for me, and I thought I’d share my systems and tools for you too.
If you’re not a paid subscriber yet, now’s a great time to join. For $8/month, you get in depth posts, monthly activity PDFs, and access to me whenever you need!
That’s it for this week. What are you reading right now and what’s one thing you’re doing for your mental health?
